Maya’s Story

I was on SSRI’s on and off as a teenager and had PSSD since I was a teenager. I had a really hard time for a while and was suicidal for years due to PSSD and other things going on in my life at the time.

I’ve been doing better in the past few years and started to accept the PSSD. I’m female, so I can still have sex with PSSD, it just doesn’t feel good and can be uncomfortable or even painful at times. I started taking Wellbutrin and noticed gradual improvements about 3-4 months after starting it. I don’t think I’m completely recovered but I can actually get turned on and have an orgasm now, but I still don’t have a high sex drive.

I was suicidal for years with PSSD being one of the the contributing factors. But after years of this suffering (when I was probably 20/21) I gradually accepted it and suffered a lot less because of this, even though my symptoms hadn’t improved. My symptoms didn’t improve until recently when I started taking Wellbutrin. I’m 23 now.
